Bruce County Rail Trail - We Put The FREE In Freeride
The Bruce County Rail Trail formally known as the CN Line was purchased by the County of Bruce in 2002. Since then, the County, Bruce Grey Trails Network, local trail groups and dedicated volunteers have worked to open the old rail line. To date the 80 kilometre Rail Trail has been signed and gates have been installed at each intersection. Most of the trail surface is a mix of dirt and coarse aggregate, but there are sections that have stonedust to allow for an easier bicycle ride or walk. Paisley and Walkerton are some of the areas that have placed stone dust on the trail. We hope to have the majority of the trail's surface covered with stonedust over the next couple of years.

The Bruce County Rail Trail is a multi-use trail system that allows the following uses:
Snowmobilers must be members of the Ontario Ferderation of Snowmobile Clubs. http://www.ofsc.on.ca/

Currently there is a section of trail closed between Bruce-Greenock North Road and Alma Street in Paisley because of two trestle bridges that need repairs. For this reason there is a by-pass that will direct users around this closed section. By-pass signs will be installed in late April 2007. An application has been submitted for funds to install railings and decking for the bridges. We'll keep you posted.
