Some wet conditions - We Put The FREE In Freeride
The Brant is slowly drying up. Expect some wet and slick conditions.
The Brant Tract is a unique property because of the high water table and clay content. After a heavy rainfall and user traffic the trail surface becomes slick which causes rutting in the trail. Once this rutting occurs, water gets trapped on the trail surface causing muddy conditions. This creates a considerable amount of work for our trail crew to fix. We suggested that you put off riding the Brant at least 24 hours after a heavy rainfall.
If you are looking for a place to ride after a heavy rainfall hit the Carrick Tract. The Carrick has great aggregate and soil mixture which drains amazingly.
