Brant Trail History - We Put The FREE In Freeride

History of Brant Tract The Brant Tract was the first multi-use trail system developed by the County of Bruce.  This was a pilot project beginning in 2001 and ending in 2003.  Trail construction began after a recent logging operation in 2001.  Soon after the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) was contracted in 2002 to put on a workshop on sustainable trail design and construction techniques.  By 2003 the County teamed up with the Government of Canada and the Ontario Power Generation to create single-track trails.  Dedicated workers through a Youth Services Canada Project that took place in 2003 and 2004 developed much of the "single track" using IMBA trail building standards.
