Trail Crew History - We Put The FREE In Freeride
2001-2002 Brant Tract
Two workers were employed to design single-track trails at the Brant Tract through a Job Creation Partnership Program serviced by Human Resources Development of Canada. Much of the single-track created at the Brant was designed over a 10 month period.
2003-2004 Brant Tract
The Bruce County Planning Department received funding from Youth Services-Human Resources Development of Canada to deliver a "Youth at Risk" program. Twelve participants were selected to create trails for the property and through the 10-month project approximately ten kilometers of trail was constructed. In addition to trail development participants had an opportunity to develop career skills through training programs.
2004-2005 MTB Park (Albemarle Tract)
Six participants were selected through a Job Creation Partnership Program-Human Resources Development of Canada to develop trails and man made technical features for the property. Individuals were selected for their specific skills and worked on the property for a 10-month period.
2005-2006 Carrick Tract
Funding was approved by Service Canada to deliver a "Youth at Risk" program for the Carrick Tract Managed Forest. Seven participants were employed over an 11-months to design and construct trails for the property. Participants also had an opportunity to develop career skills through project activities like workshops and training seminars.
2006 Brant Tract
Two participants were employed to create a new trail at the Brant Tract. This contour trail is an extension of the existing Devil's Elbow and added an additional 1.7 kilometres. Participants also brush back all trails and created re-routes in specified areas.
2006 MTB Park
Participants were selected to create additional features for the property and to complete Loop 6, which was designed but never completed. Technical features included in 2006 are Rock City adjacent to Loop 4 and Rock Junction located off of Loop 5.
