Lindsay Tract - We Put The FREE In Freeride
The Lindsay Tract is the newest county property to undergo trail development this year. Development began in May 2008 and will wrap up in January 2009. The property currently contains approximately 6 kilometres of new single-track trail for hikers and mountain bikers. Single-track ranges from easy to intermediate depending on your riding ability. Rock is abundant along the trails, so use caution while using the property. By the end of the project we hope to have approximately 12 kilometres of single-track trail ranging from easy to dificuly. There is some existing double track is available for equestrian, skiing, hiking and biking. MOTORIZED USE ON PROPERTY IS PROHIBITED
HOW TO GET THERE
The parking area is located on the west side of Hwy 6-2.5 kilometres north of Clarke's Road between Ferndale and Miller Lake.
In the parking area is a large blue sign that say "Lindsay Tract Trails Coming Soon"
SIGNAGE
A temporary trailhead sign is located in the parking area and all trail intersections are signed as well.
LOCAL WILDLIFE
Black Bears and the Massasauga Rattle Snakes are found throughout the property. Please avoid these animals if seen. In addition you can find White Tailed Deer, Fishers, Racoons and an abundance of birds including birds of prey.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENT
Development will continue in spring 2009.
